Getting started

What is FeedBlox?
FeedBlox is a small embeddable widget for collecting feedback and bug reports from any website. Visitors can rate their experience, leave a comment, and (on Pro and Max) attach a screenshot or short screen recording. Everything lands in one inbox in your dashboard.
How do I install the widget?
Create an account, add a site, and copy its widget snippet from the dashboard. The snippet is a single <script> tag that loads our vanilla JavaScript widget and identifies your site with an embed token. Paste it into your site's <head> or just before </body>. No build step, no SDK.
What is a "site"?
A site is a property you own (a domain or a single product). Each site has its own snippet, embed token, widget configuration, and inbox. Add a separate site for each product or environment so feedback stays attached to the right place.
Do I need to verify ownership of my site?
Yes. After adding a site, the dashboard gives you a meta tag to place in your site . We fetch your public URL and confirm the token before the widget is allowed to send data.

The widget

What does the widget look like to visitors?
A small launcher button along the bottom or top edge (corners or centered). When clicked, it opens a panel where the visitor rates their experience using the input mode you chose for that site: sentiment faces (two or three options), 1-5 stars, thumbs up/down, NPS (0-10), a 1-5 number scale, or comment-only with no rating step. They can add an optional comment, and on Pro or Max can optionally capture a screenshot or record a short clip.
Can I customize the widget?
Yes. Under Site settings you pick launcher position (bottom or top, left, right, or center) and bottom offset in pixels for bottom placements. Under Widget settings you choose the feedback input mode, panel copy, colors, font, and optional extra field. Defaults are sensible if you want to set it and forget it.
Which feedback input modes are available?
Per site under Widget settings: sentiment faces (with or without neutral), 1-5 stars, thumbs up/down, NPS (0-10), a labeled 1-5 scale, or comment-only. Numeric scores appear in the inbox (for example N/5 or NPS N/10) and map into positive, neutral, and negative for charts, filters, and automations.
Does the widget slow down my site?
The widget script is small, plain JavaScript with no framework. It loads asynchronously, runs after the page is interactive, and only fetches its configuration when needed. There is no analytics SDK, no third-party tag manager, and no fonts or stylesheets pulled from a CDN.
Which browsers and devices are supported?
The widget works in any modern browser including mobile Safari and Chrome. On desktop, Pro and Max plans can use live screen capture and recording. On iPhone and iPad, visitors can attach a photo or video from their library or camera instead. Free plan feedback has no media attachments.
How long can a screen recording be?
On Pro a single recording is capped at 30 seconds; on Max it is capped at 60 seconds. Each recording also has a file-size cap (32 MB on Pro, 200 MB on Max). Screenshots are capped at 8 MB on Pro and 25 MB on Max.
What client debug data ships with a bug report?
On every plan, when the embed script is present, each submission can include recent console log/warn/error lines, failed fetch and XHR (4xx, 5xx, or network errors), uncaught JS errors, and optional metadata you attach with FeedBlox.setMetadata (user ID, plan, version, workspace, and similar). The inbox also shows a repro summary from the element trail. On Pro and Max, after a screenshot or photo attach, visitors can annotate the image (arrow, box, circle, text, blur) before sending.

Inbox and triage

What lands in the inbox?
Every visitor submission: sentiment, comment, page URL, browser context, client debug (console, network, JS errors, metadata), element trail with repro summary, and any screenshot or recording the visitor attached. Submissions are grouped by site so each product has its own inbox.
Can I tag or organize reports?
Yes. Each report can be tagged, assigned a status (open, in progress, resolved), and routed by automation rules. Pro and Max include automations that match keywords, sentiment, or page URL and apply tags or statuses automatically.
Can teammates work the inbox with me?
Yes on Pro and Max. From the site's Members page you can invite collaborators by email and give them access to that site's inbox and triage controls. Free plans are single-user.
Will I get notified when feedback comes in?
You can opt into email alerts in your account settings. Webhooks (Pro and Max) let you push every new report to your own endpoint for Slack, Linear, or anywhere else you want it.

Plans and billing

Do new accounts get Pro for free?
Yes. Every new account gets Pro free for your first month with no credit card. You get unlimited reports, screenshots, recordings, webhooks, automations, and collaborators during the trial. After it ends, you stay on Free unless you subscribe to Pro or Max.
What is the difference between Free, Pro, and Max?
Free includes 3 workspace sites you own, the widget, sentiment, comments, client debug and repro summary on every report, and a quiet inbox, capped at 150 submissions per calendar month. Pro supports up to 10 owned sites, removes that cap, and adds screenshots, recordings (up to 30s), automations, webhooks, and collaborators. Max covers up to 20 owned sites with everything in Pro, plus larger images, longer recordings (up to 60s), and priority email support.
What counts as a "submission"?
Each completed feedback report from a visitor counts as one submission. Screenshots and recordings attached to the same report do not count separately. Anonymous embed page views (used to estimate widget impressions) are not submissions and are never charged.
How does billing work?
Paid plans are billed monthly through Paddle, our merchant of record. Paddle handles tax collection where required. You can change plans or cancel from the Billing page in your dashboard at any time.
What happens if I exceed the free monthly cap?
Once you cross 150 submissions in a calendar month (UTC), new submissions for that month are paused and the widget shows a friendly notice. Your existing data stays intact, and the cap resets at the start of the next month. Upgrade to Pro any time to remove the cap.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, in specific cases described in our Refund Policy: a 14-day money-back guarantee on your first paid period, refunds for billing errors, and proration on termination without cause. See the Refund Policy for the full list.
How do I cancel?
Open Dashboard → Billing and click Cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep paid features until then, and we do not charge again.

Privacy and data

What data does FeedBlox collect from my visitors?
Each report can include sentiment or rating, optional comment and extra field text, page URL, user-agent, submitter IP (abuse prevention), a structural element trail (no DOM text), and a bounded client debug bundle (recent console lines, failed network calls, JS errors, and optional metadata you set with FeedBlox.setMetadata). Screenshots or recordings are included only when the visitor explicitly captures them. We do not set tracking cookies on visitors or run third-party analytics inside the widget. See our Widget Data and GDPR guide for the full list.
What should I tell visitors under GDPR?
You are usually the data controller for feedback on your site; FeedBlox acts as your processor. Update your privacy notice to mention feedback, debug context, and any metadata you attach. Use opaque IDs in FeedBlox.setMetadata where possible, avoid logging secrets to the browser console on pages with the widget, and email privacy@feedblox.net if you need help with data subject requests. Details: Widget Data and GDPR and the Privacy Policy.
Do you track individual visitors?
No. There is no visitor profile, no cross-site identifier, no fingerprinting, and no advertising integration.
Where is data stored and how long do you keep it?
Data is stored on infrastructure in the United States. Submissions and attachments are retained while your account is active. On account deletion or after a closed-workspace export window, we delete the data on the schedule described in the Privacy Policy.
Are you GDPR, CCPA, and BIPA compliant?
We process personal information as a processor or service provider on your behalf. The Privacy Policy details GDPR, CCPA, and Illinois BIPA / PIPA notes. For data-protection requests, email privacy@feedblox.net.

Integrations and API

Do you have webhooks?
Yes on Pro and Max. Add one or more HTTPS JSON endpoints from the site's Integrations page (or via the REST API). When a visitor submits feedback, FeedBlox POSTs a JSON body to each enabled URL. Optional signing secret adds an X-Feedblox-Signature header (HMAC-SHA256).
Is there an API?
Yes. Pro and Max accounts create API keys under Dashboard → API Keys. Use Authorization: Bearer fbx_... against /api/v1 to list sites, manage webhooks (register your JSON endpoint URL), send test deliveries, and read feedback. The embed widget still uses public endpoints with the embed token only.
Can I export my data?
Yes. You can export submissions for a site from the dashboard. On account closure you have a 30-day window to export before deletion.

Account and security

How do I sign in or reset my password?
Sign in with email and password from /auth/login. The link below the form starts a password reset; we email a one-time link that expires shortly after issue.
How do you store my password?
Passwords are hashed with a strong adaptive algorithm; we never store or log the plaintext. See the Security Overview for more on encryption, access control, and incident response.
How do I delete my account?
From Dashboard → Account, choose Delete account. This removes your sites, submissions, and attachments on the schedule described in the Privacy Policy. Cancel any paid plan first to stop renewals.
